“…the purpose of psychotherapy is to set people free.”
~ Rollo May, 1981
Hi, and a warm welcome to you. I’m a qualified Humanistic Existential therapist, and I offer counselling in an empathic, confidential and non-judgemental space, either face-to-face, online or over the phone. Together we will look at, explore, and work through the issues that may be troubling you. I work in a person centred way, which means that I strive to see through your eyes, and gain a deeper understanding of your unique world view. Existential therapy is rooted in philosophy, rather than psychology, which means that we will look at the tensions that can arise within the givens of existence; meaning versus meaninglessness, freedom versus responsibility, isolation versus connectedness and so on.
Training and experience
I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, with training specifically in Humanistic Existential therapy. I am a member of the BACP, which is the professional body of counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK. I adhere to their ethical framework and attend regular courses and workshops to ensure that I work ethically and safely by keeping informed and staying on top of my professional development. I am insured, and also receive monthly supervision.
